Self Talk

Self talk is what we say to ourselves about ourselves or others. It’s our thinking that goes on in our heads and eventually comes out of our mouths.  What we say to ourselves on a daily basis affects our lives.  To give you an example of what I mean, say if you made a mistake and find that mistake and then say to yourself, “oh that was just silly of me John Doe.”  By saying that, is in itself an affirmation. Self talk is so important because what we say to ourselves is an affirmation.  Affirmations are things we affirm to ourselves daily.  So if you say “I can’t do that” and say that on a regular basis you won’t be able to do anything.

What you can do about it is, If you catch yourself making negative statements about yourself then say a positive statement to counteract the negative one.  As well as say that positive statement as many times daily as possible until it is engrained in your head and you no longer say the negative one.
